films

When I was going through my older films, I realized that my work mainly manifests my personal experiences, performances, and intimate memories. I present to you this visual portfolio, my video diary.

Above is my latest work and below are the trailers of my short films made between 2014-2022.

Hiding in the Grain, 15min. Made and finished during my MFA studies. Memories, friends, politics, identity, and sexuality.
Earth Calling, quite successful piece of strange stuff, based on my own personal experiences.
Matyas, one of the most successful short films I made. Inspired by Otesanek – a Czech fairy tale created by Karel Jaromír Erben in the 19th century which tells the story of a fearsome and constantly hungry, living log of wood. My take is about my newborn son and my experiences of a single and super tired mum. Gosh, I am grateful I made this one, just to remind me of those scary days.. Made and finished during my BA studies.
Dream, Exhibited at my solo show, A4 Sounds, Dublin.
Are you There? Response to Covid 19 isolation. Hey, Eve, where’s You gone?
Are you There?, yet another response to Covid19 isolation. Limits, prohibitions, birds singing backwards..
She, another experimental film made during my MFA. This time about a mother who’s a bit coo-coo from lack of sleep. Emphasis on locations around James Street, Dublin.
Goodbye, Sherkin. Probably a first short experiemental film I’ve finished down on Sherkin Island. I lived and studied there for two and a half years. I live in a very very very old house by myself and with my best friend, Jilkos the dog. Those were the best years of my single life but also the most challenging. Thank you, Sherkin and thank you, Charlie for helping me survive.
Sharmaid, another older piece performed by myself, my personal favorite. Messing, freezing, adoring Dorothy Cross and her artwork.
Up Side Down, myself again, down at Rosscarbery beach one early morning, 54mins headstand. Why?
Draw me, ma, a series of drawings I made during my pregnancy. I am not quite happy with my editing but sure memories..
Lost and Found, another oldie, I believe I’ve captured a memory of loss. Great for my own future records on how listening to a specific song can bring back feelings.
